MISSION / SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Supervisor-(Kraft)

Provide direct on-shift supervision for Pulp Mill and Woodyard Department. Pulp Mill supports two paper machines. The department includes 3 continuous digesters (3-Kamyr), wood chip/bark handling equipment, re-causticizing plant, and a recycling plant (recycle fiber from our internal converting plants).

JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include but are not limited to the following. Accountable for overall shift performance in accordance to established key performance indicators (KPI’s) to include: safety, environmental compliance, housekeeping, quality and efficiency. Takes necessary actions to ensure goals are achieved in a team environment by leading or promoting problem solving and development of countermeasures that will prevent future reoccurrence.

Plan and control the production of fiber for the paper machines against operating targets.

This role actively leads 5S and lean manufacturing programs by ensuring goals are met within the department. This Supervisory position ensures completion of all required paperwork, schedules, work orders, etc.

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

3 – 5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably in pulp operations.

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent pulp/paper experience will also be considered.

SPECIFIC SKILLS:

Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule including some weekends. 5-week rotation work schedule: 3 off, 4 on; 7 off, 4 on; 3 off, 3 on; 1 off, 4 on. This 5-week rotation provides weekends off: 2 long weekends Friday through Sunday and one Friday and Saturday off.

SAP experience preferred.
