Global Logistics Sourcing Manager

This role has been designed as Hybrid with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Description:

Job Family Definition:

Responsible for managing commodities/categories worldwide, including goods and services that support the company and its customers. Includes setting category strategies; supply base development to meet the company and customer requirements; and supplier contracting and negotiations; supplier qualification; and establishing quality processes / resolving quality issues. Emphasis is on strategy, supplier development, negotiations, business relationships, quality, cost, assurance of supply and predictability. Develops the company procurement strategies, policies and tactics required to achieve objectives. Primary objective is to reduce the cost of supply and meet demand requirements, business and quality specifications, and revenue goals. Adds value to the company through managing performance aspects of major contracts and subcontracts.

Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

Responsibilities:

– Leads Procurement and Contract negotiation of complex logistics services focused primarily on warehousing, but also including Surface transportation/ last-mile, and Brokerage service.
– Responsible for optimizing cost of assigned region and mode and manage significant financial spend budget for assigned region.
– Accountable for executing Procurement Logistics Partner strategy for the region.
– Creates multi-year strategies for logistics network optimization across multiple stakeholders.
– Evaluate key market drivers of logistics cost and services and publish region and country specific logistics market intelligence on a regular basis.
– Builds strategic relationships and actively partners with multiple internal and external stakeholders and/or suppliers at the VP and SVP level on a regular basis.
– Independently drives and executes HPEs logistics sourcing initiatives – multiple RFPs/ tenders/ contract negotiations in a year.
– Negotiates and completes contracts with highly complex and critical suppliers.
– Collaborates with peers as a team-player in multi-modal, cross-region synergies.

Education and Experience Required:

– First level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.
– Typically 5-10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain function.

Knowledge and Skills:

– Deep knowledge of logistics marketplace and commer ial pricing of Warehousing.
– Excellent understanding of global procurement processes, industry, and complex suppliers.
– Excellent analytical skills.
– Excellent business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint) and supply chain modeling skills.
– Strong knowledge, use and influence of procurement tools and applications.
– Excellent communication skills, including presentation and negotiation abilities.
– Strong Project Management Skills.
– Strong team leadership and influencing skills.
– Mastery in English and local language.
– Capable of drafting contract solutions in known contract risk areas to obtain acceptable outcomes with limited supervision.
– Strong ability to develop suppliers strategically.
– Extensive know-how of developing Warehousing modes.
– Adept at negotiation of logistics commercials and timely management of contractual agreements
– Ability to multi-task and navigate between strategic and hands-on work effectively.

Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level. If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay. If this is a non-sales role, then the listed salary range reflects base salary only. Variable incentives may also be offered. USD Annual Salary: $75,500.00 – $174,500.00
