Summary
This position is responsible for assisting the Dalhart Logistics Coordinator with maintaining control and accuracy of all paperwork and operations for the Shipping and Receiving department. We will train the right person!
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Prepare shipment files for daily shipping orders.
Greet and process truck drivers.
Process and prepare shipping and receiving documents.
Complete daily data entry and reporting for shipment processing.
Ensure all orders are completed correctly and shipped in a timely fashion.
Maintain order and housekeeping of the shipping office.
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Maintain clear and open communication with shipping department and production supervisors.
All other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
Walking and working outdoors in the elements and in an office environment.
Standing or sitting for extended periods of time.
Expected Hours of Work
Typical daily office hours are 7 AM to 5 PM.
Shipping hours may vary per week and are dependent on customer needs and schedules.
Harvest and planting seasons may require longer hours, including weekends.
Desired Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
1 years’ experience in a shipping/receiving setting.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings and weekends during time-critical periods of the shipping season.
Problem resolution and customer service skills.
Experience using Windows based computer programs (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and a general aptitude with software systems.
Experience working with shipping, receiving, or related software programs.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
Knowledge of common warehouse operations and procedures.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.
