Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Arts and Crafts at Davis Monthan AFB. This position is a Regular Part Position. Regular Part positions are guaranteed 20 hours but may work up to 40 hours per week. With benefit. Responsibilities DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Design and executes production of assorted products in the engraving shop in the form of laser and engraved wood, metal, plastic plates, plaques, glass containers as well as printed business cards/invitations/announcements using computer graphics packages and equipment. Ensures graphics shop equipment is maintained properly and in good operational condition to include taking apart, cleaning and repairing on a weekly/monthly basis. Coordinates required repairs with manufacturer representatives. Operates a computerized engraver and laser engraver, sandblasting equipment, sublimation equipment, copiers, heat presses, and hand tools. Selects and prepares resale stock and supply orders to purchasing agent in a timely manner to ensure an adequate resale selection for the customer. Responsible for operating the cash register, collecting money, maintaining and performing an accurate resale inventory on a monthly basis. Provides customer service, answers telephones and assists shop users with design selection. Able to train other staff to assist in the engraving shop as necessary. Maintains clean, neat and safe work area. Performs other related duties and assists facility supervisor as requested. Must have progressively responsible experience in computer graphic design software and basic artistic talent. Must have knowledge of methods and procedures of printing processes and equipment. Must be able to read, write, spelt and figure basic math and measurements. Must have a clear speaking voice and be able to deal with the public. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
