The High School Program Coordinator is responsible for helping facilitate high school development efforts focused on building pipelines to attract, hire, and retain individuals across all disciplines, who will embrace UC Healths mission and values. In collaboration with leadership, this role will help to foster and optimize pipelining initiatives for high school students within UC Health. Serves as subject matter expert for UC Health and the opportunities we provide as an organization and the career progression from a high school student to an employee at the bedside.
– Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED.
– Preferred: Associate degree.
– Prefer PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP Certification.
– Minimum Required: 1 – 2 Years equivalent experience.
– Preferred: 3 – 5 Years equivalent experience.
External Stakeholder Relationship Building – High School Partners:
Proactively maintains relationships with local high schools (traditional/non-traditional) and activates programming.
Helps facilitate high school opportunities for co-ops, cohort experiences (i.e. tours, etc), internships, and other programs to attract high school candidates into pipelining roles.
Travel to high schools for events and engagements, weekly for events and engagement.
Serves as a positive role model in representing the department and UC Health values, policies, and procedures. Takes the initiative in identifying and facilitating the resolution of administrative and departmental problems through research, communication, and cooperation with personnel.
Internal Stakeholder Relationship Building:
Facilitate and organize hiring leaders/presenters for high school audiences, optimizing key department messaging, and career opportunities.
Acts as a liaison facilitator between pipelining stakeholders (i.e., schools)
Help to optimize opportunities and engagement with internal leaders to maximize efforts.
Departmental Development:
Coordinate with Leaders and UC Health partners to design and implement strategies to pipeline critical positions by working with area schools and community partners.
Understands and communicates best practices for career pathway development plans.
Maintains understanding and knowledge of the organizations staffing and retention initiatives and unit-specific staffing practices.
Assist in the interpretation of policies and procedures to staff. Assist Leader in updating policies, maintaining preventative maintenance paperwork and databases, and ensuring regulatory documentation is updated in a timely manner. Assist leadership with any regulatory body visits to the healthcare facility.
Attend departmental meetings, committee meetings and record minutes, review and provide minutes for management review. Maintain confidentiality of student and associate information.
