Job Title: Sample Preparation Technician

Job Description

This position is responsible for executing excellence in sample processing and comminution techniques in a high-volume, fast-paced commercial lab. Sample preparation is the first stage of the sample life cycle and it is crucial that all steps (processing, aliquoting, labeling, and storage) are completed correctly to ensure the accuracy of lab testing.

Hard Skills

Preparation techniques for sample processing

Use of grinding mills and other comminution techniques (e.g., blenders, Magic Bullet grinders, liquid nitrogen)

Accurate labeling of sample cups with unique identifiers

Recording techniques and delivery details into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)

Organization and disposal of samples

Submission requests through third-party labs

Lab safety and quality procedures (PPE, GMP, OSHA, ISO)

Filing documentation in LIMS

Data entry

Titrations/dilutions as needed
