ASRC Federal is seeking a Software Developer to support our FAA contract located at William J. Hughes Technical Center, Atlantic City, NJ.
Summary: Aeronautical Information Management Modernization (AIMM) provides Aeronautical Common Services (ACS) as the single trusted access point of Aeronautical Information including Special Activity Airspace, Federal NOTAM System, and airport configuration data Integration and ingestion of eNational Airspace System Resource (eNASR) and Special Use Airspace (SUA) Management System (SAMS) data through eNASR and SAMS SWIM services.
Work location: Onsite ( William J. Hughes Technical Center, Atlantic City, NJ )
Clearance: Must successfully complete a government issued background investigation.
Responsibilities:
Provide 2 nd level engineering support for ACS
Develop software modifications for ACS
Provides support in software requirements analysis, design, design reviews, development, software testing, integration, installation, and maintenance of complex computer systems.
Interprets and analyzes complex information systems data to develop technical documentation, system diagrams, and presentation materials.
Develop and manage software maintenance transition plan
Define objectives: Identify resources needed; Develop schedules; Develop cost estimates
Review and comment on system engineering documents; system requirement documents; software testing documents; training material
Attend system design reviews; technical interchange meetings; any other meetings as requested to support program and team
Coordinate with various stakeholders and communicate effectively and clearly
On call for site support
Will work with software programming languages such as Java, XML and SQL. Familiarity with object-oriented programming techniques, client/server development, cross-browser development, and Unix/Linux skills may be required.
May need to work with specialists from other disciplines such as hardware, software, logistic support, and testing to produce fully integrated and responsive components and systems.
Works independently with close supervision.
Requirements :
All applicants must have resided in the United States continuously for the past 3 years.
Required
Understanding of software architecture
Knowledge of database management
Ability to allocate and manage resources
Understand program risk, identify and mitigate risks to the plan
Experience communicating with stakeholders
Preferred
Working knowledge of networking, client server architecture, cloud computing and enterprise system architecture.
Knowledge of server operations, data communications and systems analysis and networks
Solid understanding of IP network technologies and software tools for performance monitoring and troubleshooting
Must successfully complete a government issues background investigation.
Education/Experience
From a college or university accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelor’s degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science
Minimum of twenty-five (25) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field
OR
Master’s Degree in any field of study with a minimum thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and twenty (20) years related work experience in a computer science or math field,
OR
PhD or Doctorial in a related field with a minimum thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and twelve (12) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field.
