CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.
The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.
This position is a Cooperative Agreement position.
As a CANDIDATE, you are required to provide documentation (i.e., High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.
Must be able to obtain a completion of a favorable National Agency Check background investigation clearance.
NOTE

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a course of study in a field related to computer or information science AND One (1) year of professional experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming or related field AND Security Plus Certification; OR
High School Diploma AND Three (3) years of professional experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming or related field AND Security Plus Certification.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
If a candidate does not possess the required Security Plus Certification and is offered the position: Candidate will be granted employment under a “training status” with a Six (6) month time frame to complete the above-mentioned Certification. A 10% salary decrease will apply until license is completed and received by the DMA State Human Resources Office. Failing to complete Security Plus Certification within the allotted timeframe, shall result in termination.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains voice network hardware and software. Acquire, install, maintain, and repair communications and systems as related to distribution closets, and outside plant cabling. Acquires, installs, maintains, repairs, and configures data transmission networks cabling and equipment. Perform all voice and data cabling for DMA internal services and customers, including installation/relocation of patch panels, plenum cable, multi-mode & single mode fiber and cable management. Configures and maintains tactical communications equipment.
Assists network personnel in the design, configuration, maintenance, and repair of networks/enterprise (large multi-tasked) voice and network systems.
Analyzes and resolves network hardware, software, and communications problems using diagnostic software and/or technical troubleshooting processes. Performs helpdesk duties moves, adds and changes. Trains users in use of communications equipment and is maintains knowledge base on all instruments and technologies
Other duties as assigned. Will perform Mechanical duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of how to configure network routers, switches for voice services
Knowledge of COMSEC requirements
Knowledge skills and abilities to work unsupervised for installation of all communications cable which may be installed through ceilings and other pathways
Knowledge of network security
Knowledge, skills, and abilities to work unsupervised in the installation and termination of computer cable, fiber optics, COAX and all network jack terminations
Knowledge, skills, and abilities to troubleshoot VOIP phone lines and data circuits
Knowledge, skills, and abilities to work unsupervised to perform moves, adds, and changes to VOIP and analog phone lines and assist users
Skill to install data room equipment such as racks, switches, and routers, wireless access points
Ability to perform helpdesk operations
Ability to configure, operate, and maintain tactical communications equipment
