Assistant Vice President, Enterprise Risk – Business Optimization

Overview

Assist the SVP, Enterprise Risk in developing, managing, and promoting overall enterprise risk management standards and framework. Drive strategic and operational direction and consistency in implementing the enterprise risk program. Lead the enterprise risk evaluation and assessment across operational, financial, credit, compliance, and strategic risk domains. Collaborate closely with Navy Federal business unit partners to identify, evaluate, mitigate, monitor, report, and manage risks across the organization.

Responsibilities

Direct the day-to-day enterprise risk program to align with Navy Federal strategic objectives, risk management industry best practices, and regulatory expectations

Establish consistent risk management methodologies, framework and tools, and key capabilities to evaluate risk assessment results

Ensure enterprise risk management practices and standards are embedded across the operational, financial, credit, compliance, and strategic risk domains

Partner with business units and senior management to assess, support, and develop risk mitigation strategies across the organization

Evaluate assessments of risk and manage the process to identify new or aggregated risks through the Qualitative Risk Assessment and Quarterly Risk Register

Counsel and advise key stakeholders on complex risk issues; provide guidance and feedback to business units throughout their risk management lifecycle

Establish risk and events rating scales, reporting protocols and standards

Develop and manage enterprise risk training program

Prepare position papers to highlight risk management issues that impact Navy Federal

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Expert knowledge of risk management principles and ability to comprehend, analyze, interpret, communicate and apply risk management related practices, instructions, procedures and policies

Significant experience in thought leadership in providing vision and strategic thinking around a full range of technical decisions and issues

Significant experience in supervising and leading professional employees

Significant experience in working with diverse internal and external contacts

Advanced project leadership and execution, including initiatives with cross-functional teams and external team members

Expert skill building effective relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy and tact

Expert skill to influence, negotiate and persuade to reach agreeable exchange and positive outcomes

Expert analytical, research, reconciliation, problem solving and deductive reasoning skills

Expert skill exercising initiative and using judgment to make sound decisions

Expert verbal and written communication skills, including presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives and information clearly and concisely

Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills

Effective database, presentation, word processing and spreadsheet software skills

Bachelors degree in related field or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience

Desired Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of Navy Federals functions, philosophy, operations and organizational objectives

Masters Degree or other advanced degree in a related field, or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM
