Pathology Specimen Processor

We are seeking laboratory professionals to work in our state-of-the-art Anatomic Pathology laboratory located in Cincinnati, OH. This position works alongside the technical staff and will be assisting in the processing of histology samples. With the proper educational background and routine histology training you are eligible to pursue a technical position in the lab providing a career path within LabCorp.
The work schedule for this position is: Monday – Friday (5am-1:30pm)

Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Science is a plus
Experience in a medical or clinical laboratory strongly preferred
Prior experience with histological/pathological samples is a plus
Comfortability handling biological specimens
Ability to accurately identify specimens
Experience working in a team environment
Strong data entry and organizational skills
High level of attention to detail
Proficient in MS Office
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Able to pass a standardized color-blind test
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing including tissue and needle aspirates
Unpack and route specimen to their respective staging areas
Accurately identify and label specimens
Loading and unloading staining instrumentation
Matching tissue slides and blocks to requisitions
Replenishing staining reagents as needed
Scanning requisitions into lab and filing away tissue blocks
Assist with procedures at the hospital locations
Process all necessary paperwork to process and submit specimens
Perform audits in order to resolve any outstanding issues
Overtime as needed based on department demand
