Responsibilities The Environmental, Health, & Safety Manager is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and coordination of environmental, health & safety programs at the Bob Evans Foods Xenia plant. The individual will provide expertise in the areas of environmental and safety compliance, training, risk management, industrial hygiene, program design and development. Responsible for the planning and implementation of all safety policies and procedures established for the production areas. Responsible for completing all job safety analysis for all positions in the plant and keeping them up to date annually. Responsible for completing all accident investigations, reporting findings back to plant manager and supervisors. Coordinates with the Regional Safety Manager to maintain plant safety metrics and compliance training records. Coordinates with Regional Environmental Manager to maintain all environmental metrics, permits and compliance records Reviews employee training for each work assignment to assure safety in operation and quality compliance. Complies with and enforces company environmental and safety programs and policies. Direct the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by eliminating hazards, training employees, and promoting safety awareness. Coordinates with the plant manager on safety/loss control issues. Actively participate as a lead Safety Committee member. Works with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure all food safety and safety related compliance training is accomplished for all new hires, required annual updates and maintenance specific training through our e- learning system Coordinates with the Plant Manager and Regional Safety Manager to maintain all plant specific programs including the following: Safety & Risk Management Process (SRMP) HAZMAT Emergency Response PSM and RMP Ammonia programs (if applicable) Environmental Management Lock-Out Tag-Out of power equipment Machine Guarding Permit Required Confined Space Hazard Communications- Material Safety Data sheets Blood Borne Pathogen Personal Protective Equipment Incident Reporting / Accident Investigation Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, health management or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years’ experience with safety and environmental management in a manufacturing environment. Experience in training delivery, safety audits, behavioral safety and ergonomics. Applied knowledge of OSHA record keeping and worker’s compensation handling.
