Job Summary
Leader Operations Support Specialist (LOSS) who will lead efforts to provide specialized support to the NIPSCO Measurement and Regulation department requiring problem solving, evaluation, and implementation. Assist with development of staff knowledge and experience related to gas telemetry, instrumentation and controls, SCADA, and measurement equipment. Work closely with business partners in Gas Control, Meter Reading, and Industrial Billing to develop and implement strategies to enhance customer value. Drive consistency and a cohesive approach to compliance work, training, scheduling, employee safety and records management.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Lead day to day and long-term strategy for NIPSCO state-wide Measurement Technician employees and associated equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations.
Analyze, recommend and implement solutions as needed to address operational problems
Deliver subject matter expertise in collaboration with operations leadership to implement initiatives that achieve strategic objectives.
Evaluate and ensure coordination of associated field operations compliance programs, including monitoring and evaluating for compliance with Policies/Procedures and federal/state regulation.
Lead process improvement projects/teams focusing on statewide consistency.
Partner with peers to help identify/assist in development of common training initiatives
Lead, participate and ensure compliance in the design and rollout of new operations technologies, processes, and policies.
Participate in emergency response activities and cover 24/7 standby emergency coverage rotation.
Required Qualifications
Experience utilizing operations support systems, including SCADA, Work Management Systems, Meter Management Systems, etc.
4-6 years experience in natural gas distribution field operations, gas measurement, or instrumentation and controls experience
Experienced in data gathering & analysis
Experience with PC based systems, including Word and Excel, to create memos and spreadsheets containing basic mathematical formulas.
Working knowledge of gas operations, measurement, and electrical policies and procedures, and applicable federal, state and local codes/regulations.
Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills that result in clear, concise, and positive communications.
Strong problem solving and decision making skills
Demonstrated skill in independently organizing, scheduling and planning work
Demonstrated success with initiating action.
Demonstrated facilitation skills
Valid drivers license.
Preferred Qualifications
Supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership skills
Demonstrated delivery of training & evaluation programs
Experience in control system design reviews
Associate or Bachelors Degree.
This position can be located in Gary, South Bend, or our Fort Wayne Offices.

Salary Range:
$91,000.00 – $136,600.00
