Job Description: Part-time School Facilities Development Director Position
Title: School Facilities Development Director
Location: Grinnell-Newburg Community School District
Reports To: Superintendent Position

Overview: The School Facilities Plan Development Director is responsible for overseeing the planning and development of a comprehensive district facilities plan. This role requires a deep understanding of the local community, demonstrated experience in school financing, particularly in funding facilities, and a comprehensive understanding of student learning and school operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading processes to identify school district facility needs and solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
? Facility Planning and Development: Collaboratively lead the process of identifying facility needs and challenges. Develop and implement strategic plans to address these needs with innovative and sustainable solutions.
? Community Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with local community stakeholders to understand their needs and incorporate their input into facility planning as well as to clearly communicate the needs of the district for continued system and student success.
? Collaboration: Work closely with the superintendent, the board and others to ensure that the planning process results in community support around facilities development aligned with the boards goals.
? Financial Management: Oversee the financial aspects of facility planning process, including budgeting, securing funding, and managing expenditures related to the planning process. Demonstrate expertise in school financing, particularly in securing funds for facility projects.
? Planning Process Management: Oversee development and execution of a planning process, ensuring it is completed in a timely manner, and to the required quality expectations of the superintendent and Board.

Qualifications:
? Education: Masters degree or beyond in Educational Administration or Educational Leadership.
? Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in school district leadership, with successful experience in leading facilities plan development.
? Skills:
? Strong understanding of school financing and funding mechanisms.
? Excellent project management and organizational skills.
? Ability to develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders.
? Ability to facilitate small and large group meetings and discussions
? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
? Strong presentation skills
? Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to school facilities.
