TITLE: INSTRUCTOR I – EDUCATIONAL TASK LEADTYPE: NON-TENURABLECONTRACT PERIOD: Academic year – 9 months ( August 16 – May 15)PROGRAM: MICRO-CREDENTIAL CERTIFICATE Applications received by October 13, 2024 will be guaranteed full review and consideration. Applications received after that date may be considered until an adequate applicant pool has been established.Montana Tech is seeking an entry-level non-tenured instructional task lead for creation, conversion, and/or delivery of a micro-credential program in extractive engineering disciplines, environmental, metallurgical, mining, and geological engineering. This is a three year grant-funded position to support a new micro-credential certificate program funded by DPA cooperative agreement. DUTIES: • Deliver on-line course work at advanced undergraduate / graduate level for grant-funded certificate program in extractive engineering disciplines, including environmental, metallurgical, mining, and/or geological engineering• Work as an interface between departmental subject matter experts, instructional designers, and others on the project team to create and convert technical content for the certificate program at the advanced undergraduate / graduate level• Work in a multi-disciplinary setting• Incorporate national best practices for on-line asynchronous delivery, working collaboratively with instructional designers to incorporate regular substantive interactions• Provide initial quality review of curriculum to align with University quality standards and federal requirements for online asynchronous deliveryREQUIRED QUALIFICAITONS: MS degree in STEM discipline relevant to subject matter (e.g. mining, geological, metallurgical, materials, environmental, or related field) Experience as a graduate teaching assistantExperience in oral and written communication in a technical fieldPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:PhD degree in STEM disciplineExperience as a lecturer or instructor in either higher education or professional development Experience teaching STEM courses in a University setting or training modules in an industrial settingExperience delivering on-line STEM coursesUnderstanding of national best practices for on-line asynchronous educational delivery Experience in teaching adult, professional, or non-traditional learners
