The Facilities Technician III will be responsible for the performance of corrective and preventative maintenance associated with routine and unscheduled repair of electrical equipment. This position will work with contractors and other team members for the installation, set-up, maintenance, and repair of equipment associated with cGMP manufacturing operations, and black utilities. Comply with instructions on standard operating procedures and work with a team of technical experts within the electrical and HVAC area of expertise. Ensures schedule adherence to meet GMP compliance on all assigned tasks. Actively promotes the success of the VSS through continual collaboration with the team. This job has a primary focus on the maintenance and repair of refrigeration equipment and requires a strong background in HVAC and management of refrigerants.

  • Troubleshoot and repair system failures within Electrical/HVAC and mechanical related equipment.
  • Ensure compliance to GSK policies and procedures during the maintenance of GMP equipment.
  • Performs required daily and monthly rounds and readings on equipment as assigned by department lead and/or Supervisor.
  • Compliance to good documentation practices and “right the first time”.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance activities throughout facility and grounds with a primary focus on electrical systems.
  • Maximizes total system uptime by monitoring system performance and making repairs/adjustments as necessary (Electrical Systems, Chillers, Air Handlers, Refrigeration, etc.)
  • Ensures all activities performed are executed following quality and regulatory standards with an emphasis on cGDP practices.
  • Promotes a quality mindset and quality excellence approach to all activities.
  • Other tasks as assigned by department lead or Supervisor.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • 5 years of field maintenance, installation or system diagnostic experience within the electrical or HVAC field
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Position may require employees to work shifts, holidays, weekends, and over-time
  • Physical requirements including stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting up to 50lbs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of an Electrical License
  • Proven experience in implementing process improvements including ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision
  • Technical Degree and/or Bachelors Degree
  • Proven experience in implementing process improvements including ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision
  • A team player, with a flexible approach and good interpersonal and communication skills
