The subspecialty areas are: Adolescent Medicine, Asthma, Oncology, Medicine, Cardiology, Endocrinology, General Pediatrics, Surgery, Neurosurgery, Trauma and Urology to name a few. Children may come to the intensive care unit following an accident or surgical procedure, or because they have been diagnosed with a serious medical condition. All our patients have one thing in common: the need for special, intensive care. Each of us promises to focus on what matters most to every child and family, to communicate openly, honestly, and to include children and families in decisions that impact them. Leadership: Executive Director, Manager, Medical Director, Clinical Nurse Leader, Charge nurse. Child Life: 4 child Life specialists. Interprofessional members include Pharmacy, Respiratory Therapy, Case management, Social work, Dietician, OT, PT, Speech. Logistics: 50 beds 20 floor 14 monitored (west wing) PICU 16 beds. Orientation is customized for Pediatrics 12 weeks and PICU 15 weeks using Transition to practice ANCC new grad orientation platform. Pediatric Critical Care and Pediatric Modules are to be completed during Orientation.

What Registered Nurse RN will need:
A Degree from an accredited school/college of nursing is required – BSN or ADN
BLS Provider (accredited by the American Heart Association) required prior to hire
Illinois Board of Nursing license prior to hire
Clinical experience in a PEDS/PICU setting
