The Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division has an excellent opportunity within our product team for a Test & Validation Senior Engineer for Hydraulic components located in the Mossville, IL facility . This will be a multifaceted position with responsibilities that include but are not limited to, delivering quality improvements, support product introduction, salvage development, as well as cost improvements. This opportunity presents candidates with the ability to impact global sustainability, gain deeper understanding of the Caterpillar Remanufacturing business, and support development of solutions to be implemented in a manufacturing environment.
The incumbent will be responsible for but not limited to:
• Improving the quality of remanufactured hydraulic components
• Quality process maintenance & development
• Validation of hydraulic remanufactured components & processes
• Working remanufactured hydraulic components cost reduction opportunities
• Evaluating hydraulic service parts offerings for remanufacturing opportunities
Must have skill sets:
• Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science, or equivalent experience working in an Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, & Product Support function(s)
• Knowledge of company products, product applications, quality & reliability systems
• Product engineering experience & demonstrated understanding of the CPI process
• Critical thinking & decision making; ability to reach the best possible outcome for the given situation
• Ability to solve complex issues or problems through careful analysis & diagnosis
• Ability to work across various functional areas to achieve objectives & drive improvements
• Must communicate effectively (written & verbal) with peers, team members, & other business partners (all levels of the organization)
• Data visualization that tells compelling stories & drives continuous improvements
• Capability to develop collaborative/cooperative work relationships & environments
• Good judgement & a solid grasp of business acumen
• Assumes ownership & accountability for personal performance & holds others responsible for theirs
Top candidates will also have:
• Product support experience along with demonstrated understanding of quality & reliability (BiQ, APQP, quality assurance tools, techniques, processes, etc.)
• Demonstrated RCCA understanding & execution
• Manufacturing experience/exposure
• Product engineering experience & demonstrated understanding of the NPI process
• Ability to performs complex analysis, identify & provide recommendations to key stakeholders/owners
• Healthy levels of intellectual curiosity
• Leadership without authority, ability to influence others
• Ability to processes large quantities of detailed information with high levels of accuracy
• Relentless execution & delivering on commitments
• Strategic thinking
