Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

The Controls Engineer will create a systems architectural concept then design and deploy that content with PLCs, SCADA software, and database programming as required. Responsible for creating, modifying, debugging PLC software, and understanding various communication networks used and implementing on-site with clients. This individual is also responsible for developing applications of controls, instruments, and systems for industrial uses, including pumps, valves, analog sensors, pressure sensors, P&IDs, controllers, compressors, and piping. They will direct activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operation conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.

Hard Skills

3-5 years experience in PLC programming (Rockwell and/or Siemens)

3-5 years experience in process controls industry (Oil & Gas preferred; other industries: Food & Beverage, Chemical Manufacturing)

3-5 years experience in Electrical/Controls engineering or related field

Experience working with pumps, valves, analog sensors, pressure sensors, flow meters, P&IDs, piping, and compressors

Work Environment

Office environment – Work hours are flexible. May need to work 7-5 occasionally while traveling to customer sites. Travel is around 40% both international and domestic, and could be up to 2 weeks at a time. Individuals are compensated for travel based on an internal formula that equates to around an additional 20% of their salary each year.
