This role is not eligible for Mastercard’s work authorization sponsorship. About the Team
Build, implement, and maintain support for Mastercards systems/platforms for performance, efficiency, and capacity by analyzing and testing the facilities, and identifying/diagnosing performance issues (eg, middleware, compute & storage)
Launch Program
The Launch program is a development program that is supplemental to the role and is designed to help you transition from being a student to being a Mastercard employee. In this program, you will participate in:
– Four-day orientation focused on getting to know Mastercard, building your skills, and be a force for good (Mastercard’s culture)
– Professional skills workshops
– Launch Innovation Week
– Social impact – pro bono team challenge
– Global Volunteer Challenge
Role Description
As a Platform Engineer I, you will have the opportunity to:
– Assists with the development, building, and maintenance of assigned platform technologies and associated software products
– Supports holistic platform security posture which includes identifying risks, escalating potential concerns, and implementing both risk mitigation plans and control functions
– Supports the development of status reports and implementation and troubleshooting activities, providing updates to project plans as needed
– Collaborates with internal customers across development verticals to enable better decision making and support system and platform initiatives
– Provides basic technical assistance to development programmers and customers to ensure proper system/platform performances
Qualifications
– Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or accelerated master’s program graduating between Winter 2024 – Spring 2025
– Pursuing a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, and similar degrees
– Mainframe experience: network, communications, online services
– Ticketing experience
– JIRA
– Experience in technical documentation
– Strong ability to work within a fast-paced team
– Strong interest in learning various technologies
– Less than 1 year of professional work experience (not including internships)
