Job Summary Manufacturing Engineer will plan, direct, coordinate, and implement product improvement projects and manufacturing projects. Projects will include the development or improvement of product designs, materials, equipment, processes, packaging, and quality. Projects are expected to reduce cost, be completed on schedule, and within budget. Job Responsibilities Communicate with suppliers, customers, technical and production staff. Serve as the first point-of-contact for technical issues and questions. Perform fault diagnostics and root cause analysis. Read and understand technical documents such as manuals, drawings, specifications, contracts, procedures, work instructions and quality standards. Determine product compliance with technical documents. Material disposition authority. Lead lean manufacturing actives and build teams to identify and eliminate waste. Understand and participate in lean-manufacturing activities. Develop project budgets, timelines, validation plans, launch plans and coordinate staff. Develop product designs, equipment, processes, packaging, and quality controls. Develop production layouts and establish workflows. Purchase, build, install, and repair equipment. Develop equipment maintenance requirements, documents, and schedules. Create manuals, drawings, and quality standards. Create specifications, procedures, and work instructions. Confirm product design, equipment, processes, packaging, and quality controls are compliant. Measure product design, equipment, process, packaging, and quality control capability. Validate product designs, equipment, processes, packaging, and quality controls. Perform time studies, evaluate financial impact and establish production standards. Implement product designs, equipment, processes, packaging, and quality controls. Maintain production methods, resource groups, and part masters. Review new product designs for manufacturability and completeness. Provide manufacturing cost estimation for new product design. Build and evaluate new product prototypes. Follow instructions and accept constructive criticism to produce a positive outcome. Complete tasks or projects according to deadlines, including working extra if required. Utilize and/or operate machines or tools that press, mill, drill, grind, or saw. Use Microsoft Office, Epicor, SolidWorks and other software as required. Work with external entities and be willing to travel as required. Creation of job-related procedures and work instructions. Train other employees to job-related procedures and work instructions. Lead lean manufacturing activities. Coordinate activities of technical and production staff. Management of project budget, timeline, validation, and implementation. Protect themselves and their co-workers by adhering to all company safety and health policies. Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or safety coordinator. Must work with the EHS department to ensure all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies requirements are met; OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA and Amphenol sustainability practices. Must work with the Quality department to ensure all quality standards are met for AS9100 certification. Comply with company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Education: Mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, or related degree. Experience: 2 years of related experience OR an equivalent amount of education and experience Physical: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stooping, twist, reach, reach overhead. Must be able to lift 0-50lbs. frequently Shift: First Knowledge: English Language Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Production and Processing Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost , and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
