Surgical Technologist – Paying up to $35/hr.

Summary: The Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in the operating room, working under the guidance of surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical staff. Key responsibilities include setting up the operating room, preparing and transporting patients for surgery, adjusting lights and equipment, passing instruments and supplies to the surgical team, holding retractors, and assisting with supply counts. This position requires flexibility to work on an on-call basis to meet patient care and business needs. Emphasizing a teamwork approach, the Surgical Technologist may also cross-train in other clinical areas and take on additional duties as needed to support staffing and patient care requirements.

Job Description:

Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning patients on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes to prevent exposure.

Help prepare the operating room prior to an operation by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions.

Work with Sterile Processing as needed to arrange sterile setup for surgical procedures.

Ensure proper instrumentation for each procedure, including assembling both sterile and non-sterile equipment.

Participate in all counts (instruments, sponges, sharps, etc.) as needed.

Assist with maintenance of supplies and equipment.

Regular, physical attendance on a predictable basis, including on-call duties, is essential to the performance of this job.

Ensure all medications are labeled and handed to the surgeon according to established policies and procedures.

Prepare dressings or bandages and apply or assist with their application following surgery.

Skills & Qualifications:

Must have at least one year of experience in an operating room (OR) setting or documentation of equivalent education or training

Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or LVN license in Kansas (desirable).

Certification in surgical technology
