We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell V-280 Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA), part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, and Bells High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold tilt-rotor.

One position is onsite in Fort Worth, TX and one position is onsite in Bell Wichita, KS location.

Rapid Prototyping Tool Designer

Bring your experience and ideas and help usdeliver parts and tooling in support of manned and optionally manned aircraft. You’ll work with Engineering, program teams, Supply Chain and suppliers to provide tooling used within Rapid Prototyping.

This role will be an integral part of the team, working closely with customers and subcontractors. You’ll be able to hone your technical abilities on significant manufacturing challenges, all while gaining experience in leadership and communication.

What you’ll be doing as a Rapid Prototyping Tool Designer

Working within the Rapid Prototyping tool design process, you will design tools used in the development phase of exciting new programs at Bell

Take part in the planning, creation, organization, and management of tooling flowing through Rapid Prototyping to meet program and customer defined requirements

Assist Engineering with part producibility and the best way to make and assemble pre-production parts

Ensure detailed Statements of Work that will accompany models and written requirements documents are executed to ensure all parts and tooling meets or exceeds customer expectations

Interface with end users, customers, and subcontractors throughout the tool design cycle

Provide detailed estimates for cost and lead time for future projects based on recent history

Qualifications

Skills You Bring To this Role

Knowledge and experience in manufacturing fields; components and assemblies

Bell systems, processes and analytical tools related to tool design

Experience in designing tooling for composites manufacturing, structural assembly, and final assembly of aircraft

Ability to prioritize work,strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a team player mindset in a fast-paced organization

Excellent communicator must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, and brief leaders/customers

What you need to be successful

Bachelor’s degree with a Major in an Engineering field preferred.Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.Related degrees and relevant experience will be considered

At least 5 years of prior work experience in a tooling field, preferably experience designing tooling

CATIA V5 – V6, 3DX experience
