The Lean Professional position is located in US-Hutchinson, KS – Commerce

Relocation will not be offered for this role.

Responsibilities:

Drive and support of all lean activities in the manufacturing plants based on the Siemens Gamesa Manufacturing System, so that a continuous improvement process is consequently implemented.

Scrutinize difficult processes / themes / disruptions in production using the Value Stream Mapping tool.

Identify weak points, develop solutions and support related implementation, in order to improve production performance and to attain further production improvement.

Definition of comprehensive standards, description of methods and development of documentation (including also processes, work place development, tools and methods) so that cross-functional (across team or department) knowledge is made available and applicable.

Preparation, distribution and training of the subject and method knowledge in consultation discussions, workshops, so that the knowledge is passed on and initiates independent improvement activities.

Moderation of KAIZEN workshops and coaching of plant managers, local lean leaders and change agents, improving the processes and activities in the factory and for the management function, so that the successful implementation of lean thinking is assured.

Evaluation of costs / benefits of the project and carry out the controlling of measure implementation, in order to provide the key figures and benefit statement.

Standards must be assured, timetable kept and if necessary escalate in the early stages into the management function.

Drive a Continuous Improvement culture handling the COI department, ensuring the consistency in the execution of kaizens workshops and strategic cost reduction projects in the factories distributed globally, working with the stakeholders in the regions.

Conduct and inform about best practice sharing, (local lean leaders community) in order to learn from each other as well as to initiate further improvements.

Co-operation in the development and implementation of the production road map for 2-4 years (deduce measures, start pilot projects, plan training, design roll out plans, etc.,) in order to assure a long term success (-plan).

Coordination, control and expert leadership of local lean leaders in the plants, in order to achieve by common target-orientated acting best results and to promote the subject, engage with employees on SGRE in the factories to capture ideas, facilitate change and solve problems together to imbed a culture of continuous improvement.

Participation in work groups / projects in order to inform oneself and to provide information to the others, to take influence and to optimize processes and workflows.

Monitors and tracks improvement, triggered by Lean programs, and provides respective reporting to all stakeholders.

Required Knowledge, Education, Experience and Skills:

Must have at least 2 years of verifiable hands-on experience in Mechanical processes, Plant Maintenance, Mill Work, Field Services, etc.

Technical Studies- Industrial Engineering and six sigma.

Must pass a physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physical demands of the position.

Travel required upto 15-20%

Must not have restrictions to travel internationally to visit another Nacelles factories.

Must pass pre-hire drug screening.

Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver’s license at the time of application with an acceptable driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks of their license.
