The RA Business Product Owner is responsible for addressing system bugs and issues effectively and timely as well as driving the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, and ensuring the continuous improvement prioritization aligns with the business objectives. The Business Product Owner works closely with end users to understand the issues they’re facing and translates them into actionable tasks to be shared with the IT Support Squad.

The RA BPO will collaborate with both Regulatory Affairs and IT partners to translate business requirements into application functional specifications in the development of innovative solutions. In this, the role will utilize Process Excellence tools and methodologies to standardize and streamline processes and partner closely with RA Franchise and Regional leaders and SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to foster continued process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Own and manage the product backlog for system bugs, technical issues, and related enhancements, ensuring alignment with business priorities and technical needs.

Work closely with business stakeholders and IT squad to gather requirements, understand technical challenges, and ensure proper resolution of system issues.

Collaborate with development and support squads to assess the impact of bugs and prioritize them based on business impact, user experience, and urgency.

Lead efforts in triaging and troubleshooting system bugs, ensuring timely resolution, effective communication, and documentation of solutions.

Identify opportunities for process improvements to reduce system downtime and enhance the overall performance and reliability of the system.

Establish and track key performance metrics related to system performance, bugs, and fixes; communicate progress and results to leadership and stakeholders.

Gather and analyze user feedback on system performance, identifying pain points and areas for improvement to drive technical enhancements.

Oversee the release of bug fixes and technical improvements, ensuring they are properly tested, documented, and communicated to relevant stakeholders.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the squad, encouraging team members to identify and implement best practices and tooling enhancements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required ; preferred fields of study include Business or Technology focus.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant business experience required .

Ability to continuously assess the effectiveness of functional processes and to lead progressive improvement initiatives as required

Experience in leading cross-functional interactions between systems, processes, and business teams

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions

Demonstrated project management skills with strong ability to influence in a highly matrixed environment as required

Ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed environment, building partnerships and teamwork across local and global organizations as required

Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills, able to quickly build credibility within Franchises and Regions

Working knowledge of regulatory requirements, processes, and terminology

Excellent detail orientation and communication skills

Preferred Skills/Knowledge:

Experience with global/regional regulatory software/tools such as MDRIM, TDAL (Technical Documentation Application Layer), Trackwise, etc. is highly preferred

Experience with process develop methodologies and tools such as Visio or ProcessPro is highly preferred

Familiarity with large datasets, understanding of data processing and analysis workflows is preferred

Project manager certification is preferred

Experience with visualization software/tools such as Tableau, PowerBi, etc. is preferred

Working knowledge of data integration and warehousing is preferred

Comfortable delivering with minimal oversight.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $76,000 to $121,900. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
