Community Action Partnerships of Western Nebraska (CAPWN) is a non-profit community-based health and human services organization that serves low-income, disadvantaged and those unable to meet their needs through other sources. The agency was established in 1965 and provides services to over 9,000 individuals, children, and families in three main areas:
– Community Health Services: WIC, Commodity Supplemental Food, Foster Grandparents, Migrant Seasonal Head Start, and Child Development Center.
– Clinical Health Services: Primary Care, Reproductive Health, Diabetes Management, Immunizations, Migrant Health, Ryan White HIV; Behavioral Health including Counseling Services, Medication Management, Medication Assisted Treatment and Substance Use Counseling and Intensive Outpatient Services and Dental Services.
– Supportive Health Services: Family Stabilization, a Teen Outreach Program, SOAR, Youth Leadership Program, Youth Shelter, and Housing Assistance Programs.

Dental Paitient Services Represenative (DPSR)
Bilingual-Spanish and English Preferred
Full-Time, Daytime Hours
Areas of Responsibility:Oversee the general daily activities of the dental clinic; schedule dental appointments, maintain dental charts, submit insurance claims, perform basic patient intake, handle in-office payments, present treatment plans and make payment arrangements for pending treatment plans.
Major Duties:
1. Maintain a hospitable, positive, caring, professional attitude; greet clients cordially and courteously on the telephone and in person.
2. Present treatment plans to patients.
3. Assist with the purchase and storage of materials and supplies; code invoices for processing in finance as needed.
4. Schedule appointments, facilitate client check-in and check out; completion of appropriate CAPWN forms and data entry.
5. Calculation and determination of sliding fee scale; calculation and collection of payments, determination of presumptive eligibility for Nebraska Medicaid; complete pre-authorization of insurance including eligibility and benefits for all insurances.
6. Update patient information in the chart.
7. Implement procedures for accurate and timely maintenance of clients dental chart, which includes but is not limited to; appropriate scanning of client paperwork in chart including income documentation and insurance benefits into every household members dental record.
8. Accurately enter client data into the appropriate computer programs as required.
9. Work with CAPWN Dental Billing Department to complete billing for all dental patients – including billing for Nebraska Medicaid, pr vate insurance, and uninsured patients.

1. Perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning reception area, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping the reception area and hallways. Clean restrooms, employee lounge and laundry area.

12. Attend staff training sessions and meetings as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
– Computer proficiency and ability to learn new applications.
– Strong organizational and customer service skills required.
– Be able to obtain CPR certification.
– Ability to speak English,proficient level of oral and written communication skills.
– Ability to maintain privacy requirements.
– Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, patients, and dentist.
– Follows policy including but not limited to HIPAA, safety, and work standards.
Working Conditions:
– Work is frequently stressful and requires meeting tight deadlines.
– Work in a highly volatile program in a state of change with many interruptions and interactions.
– Must be flexible to work irregular hours as needed.
– The noise level in the work environment is above average.
Physical Requirements:
– Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, push and pull file drawers.
– Fine manipulation of hands for repetitive action.
– Must regularly talk, hear, and have close vision ability.
– Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds.
– Physically and emotionally able to work with other staff and patients.
Minimum Qualifications:
Grade: 10
1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish Preferred
3. Two years experience in office procedures or data entry.
Grade: 11
1. Meet the minimum qualifications above;
2. Four years experience working in a medical/dental office.
Grade: 12
1. Meet the minimum qualifications above;
2. Six plus years experience working in a medical/dental office.
