As a Civil & Structural Staff Engineer you will be responsible for technical expertise and leadership on all phases of capital projects, and for routine technical support of a chemical manufacturing facility. This role will support the civil and structural scope development and execution for debottlenecking, brownfield modifications, infrastructure, and greenfield projects. As a member of an internal multi-discipline engineering team, you will collaborate with a team of internal and external partners to ensure the successful completion of assigned projects.

Leveraging your educational and professional background in Civil Engineering, you will provide technical expertise and leadership in the specification, design, material take-off, and construction support of civil and structural infrastructure.

Your flexibility and agility will be an asset as you manage multiple projects, changing priorities, continuous improvement initiatives, and commitments in parallel. You will be responsible for the overall ownership and execution of your assigned projects.

Your detail orientation and organization skills will be important as you develop cost estimates, hour forecasts/tracking, schedule, and budget metrics, forecasts, and provide responsive and effective communications regarding your project activities and updates.

Serving as the BASF owner’s engineer, you will enable the successful execution of projects completed by external suppliers and engineering firms by providing technical oversight and effective collaboration.

Your ability to make crucial business decisions will add value as you will identify areas of cost reduction, develop safe design solutions, and drive continuous improvement opportunities.

Your superior communication and interpersonal skills will serve you well as you participate in project meetings, propose alternate value-based engineering savings, serve on standardization initiatives, and engage with Maintenance, Operations, Construction, Technical Expertise, Technical Rules Committee, and Peer Working Groups.

If you…

Have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.

Professional Engineer license required.

Possess at least 10 years of capital projects experience in the petrochemical industry.

Demonstrated organizational and communication skills, and ability to collaborate in a diverse team environment.
