Summary About the Position: Serves as Operations Project Manager at the Louisiana Field Office for projects dispersed over a wide geographical area in the states of Arkansas and Louisiana encompassing approximately 55,000 acres. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the execution of programs that are subject to numerous problems that are complex and require extensive coordination. Responsibilities Provides staff leadership to lake and river projects. Executes the planning and management of natural and manmade resources and the operation and maintenance of all structures, roads, and appurtenances, and ensures compliance with the Environmental Review Guide (ERGO). Exercises delegated authority for planning, construction, maintenance, and operational activities of the projects. Provides input to higher authority on new or revised recreation and resource management programs by evaluating proposed plans, policies, etc. Responsible for the preparation of multi-million dollar combined annual budget, obligations and expenditure schedules, and cost estimates. Reviews plans for site location and construction of all buildings and facilities proposed by others on Government land, or on private land on which the Government holds flowage easements. To qualify, you MUST meet ONE of the basic educational requirements below: Supervisory Biologist Supervisory Natural Resource Specialist Supervisory Forester Supervisory Architect Supervisory Civil Engineer Supervisory Mechanical Engineer Supervisory Electrical Engineer Supervisory Electronics Engineer In addition to meeting the Basic Education Requirement for one of the series above, you must also meet the specialized experience below: Minimum Qualifications GS-13: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Experience using an interdisciplinary approach in reviewing various natural resources management and environmental stewardship plans for the development and administration of the civil water resource development lakes; (2) Performing and/or overseeing the proper administration of the laws, regulations, and/or policies governing the agency permitted programs; and (3) Assigning workload to subordinates, developing performance plans, providing training and/or needed development for employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). All Current Federal Employees MUST attach a current SF-50 for consideration. Without a SF-50, your application WILL NOT be considered. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Environmental Law and Regulatory Compliance Leadership Natural Resource Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
