Structural Designer

Steelway International is a steel manufacturing company that specializes in fabricating wall panels, trusses, and structural components from light-gauge steel.
We are looking for an experienced designer to add to our team in Terrell, just 30 minutes East of Dallas who will assist in the preparation of building designs and plans using computer assisted design software-specifically Revit and AutoCAD.
Requirements:

– 3 years of professional experience working in Revit (related project experience a plus)
– Should be capable of creating Revit families that are parametric, scalable, and utilize sub families efficiently
– Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
– Architectural/Structural design experience a plus
– Hands-on Construction experience a plus
– Detail-Oriented, Solid Organizational and Time Management skills
– Ability to work efficiently and switch priorities as needed to manage tasks for multiple projects simultaneously
– Ability to work independently with minimal oversight, but with strong collaborative and interpersonal skills

Primary Job Functions:

– Design, create and edit conceptual plans, renderings, and detailed drawings in AutoCAD and Revit based on architectural drawings
– Design truss and wall connections, evaluate reactions and connectivity
– Detail and prepare basic linework for new projects prior to truss design. Includes grid lines, walls, beams, and basic roof line geometry using Revit tools.
– Assist in developing and maintaining object libraries, model components, and families in Revit
– Report design job hours to accounting department on a weekly basis for accurate job cost analysis
– Train users on new softwares such as Steel Engine (as needed)

Pay range starts at $28 per hour. Final determination DOE.
