Job/Position DescriptionRegional Systems Improvement Specialist Regions 4/5Performs complex (journey-level) data analysis and data research work for the Regional Systems Improvement (RSI) division of the Office of Data and Systems Improvement (DSI) in the categories of data monitoring and analysis, strategic planning based on what that data shows about how the system is functioning, business process analysis and improvement to discover and promote systems-level process remedies to improve system performance, and practice improvement to help implement and promote task-level practice standards to improve staff performance. Work involves conducting detailed analysis of and extensive research on data, providing results, and monitoring and implementing data quality. May provide guidance to others, especially in the context of leading and managing special projects and/or on-the-job training via performance standard assessment. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Essential Job Functionsand#149; Analyzes and monitors data on a monthly basis using standard statistical tools, methods, and techniques.and#149; Consults with internal and external customers to identify user needs.and#149; Compiles and queries data.and#149; Identifies data gaps, errors, anomalies, inconsistencies, and redundancies by analyzing the content, structure, and relationships within data.and#149; Interprets results to identify significant differences in data.and#149; Identifies and interprets data patterns and trends and assesses data quality.and#149; Cleans and prunes data to discard irrelevant information.and#149; Prepares concise, comprehensive technical reports to present and interpret data, identify alternatives, and make and justify recommendations on data revisions.and#149; Assists in defining, developing, and implementing data standards.and#149; Assists in developing data quality measures, analyzing data quality results, and implementing necessary changes to ensure data quality improvement.and#149; Assists in developing software applications or programming to use for statistical modeling and graphic analysis.and#149; May develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.and#149; May perform quality assurance and serve as a subject matter expert on data integrity, extraction, and compilation.and#149; May guide the selection of data management tools, and the development of standards, usage guidelines, and procedures for those tools.and#149; May provide guidance to others.and#149; Performs related work as assigned.
