Responsibilities
: The Psychology Department at Midwestern State University (MSU), an affiliate of the Texas Tech University System, invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2025. Midwestern State University emphasizes teaching, augmented by the opportunity for students to engage in research and creative activities alongside faculty. Therefore, the primary focus on this position is undergraduate teaching. The appointed faculty member will teach the equivalent of four lecture courses each long semester (fall and spring semester). Although the appointed faculty member will teach the equivalent of four lecture courses each long semester, only three unique courses will be taught in a given semester.

: Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate must: have earned a doctorate in Psychology, or a closely related area, by August 2025 (ABD acceptable at the rank of Instructor. PhD required by August 2026); demonstrate a commitment to high-quality undergraduate education; be able to teach a range of undergraduate courses including Introductory Psychology, Industrial Organizational Psychology, History and Systems of Psychology, and Social Psychology; exhibit a record of sustainable research able to integrate undergraduate students; must adhere to Universitys core values: People-Centered, Community, Integrity, Visionary, and Connections, per the MSU Texas Values Journey; and, demonstrate the ability to work collegially.
Preferred Qualifications:
The Search Committee is particularly interested in candidates with: previous experience implementing high-impact teaching practices (e.g., learning communities, service learning), experience delivering high-quality online teaching, and the ability to develop coursework to meet department needs (e.g., Sensation and Perception, Motivation).
