Summary:

This is a NAF position with the 17th Force Support Squadron, located at the Event Center, within the Community Services Flight on Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, Texas.

This position is considered Flexible. The position is not guaranteed any hours, but has the potential to work up to 40 hours per week. You may be required to work some nights, weekends and holidays. As a flexible employee, you are not eligible for leave or benefits.

Duties:

– Operates a full service bar.
– Mixes and serves all types of alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks to order, following a variety of established recipes.
– Receives payments or charges to members account as appropriate; accepts money, operates a cash register, and makes change.
– Stocks bar; washes glasses and other bar equipment.
– Responsible for the proper operation of the bar receipts, inventory accountability, and may be required to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale, which includes knowledge of a wide variety of beverages and ability to combine ingredients such as liquors, soda water, sugar, bitters, and fruit and the ability to mix exotic drinks. Must be able to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed. Must be able to follow cash handling procedures. Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 15lbs, pull and push objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift over 40 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages. Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate and/or complete food handlers training. Must be able to communicate clearly and possess skills in dealing with public. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier-1 background investigation.

Education:

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION:Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
