What you will enjoy doing
– In this role, you are responsible proactively manages health, safety, and environmental protection (HSE) in the Department. HSE issues are an integral part of all department work
– You will Identify, develops, and implements necessary department metrics for all areas of responsibility. Manages the effectiveness of the metrics and makes adjustments as required for department improvement
– You will collect relevant process improvement needs and “lessons learned” and ensures they are implemented in the department work processes
– You will ensure staff follows company and industry requirements for selection of subcontractors, subcontract bidding and award, and management of subcontractors according to subcontract requirements
– Systematically records opportunities, risks and deviations in order to identify necessary corrections and opportunities for improvement. Defines appropriate measures for improvements and manages their effective implementation
– Ensures all applicable laws and regulations related to department work are followed
– Ensures that Company and industry-specific requirements relevant to department work are observed
– Ensures that the applicable requirements of the Companys Integrated Management System (IMS) are observed, and that the implementation of IMS is regularly checked, corrected and improved
– Develop and improve department processes and workflow to improve efficiency and competencies with industry standards
– Hires, trains, develops and appraisals staff effectively. Take corrective actions as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consult with company Human Resources as appropriate
– Prepares, submits, and presents reports to the Director of Construction and others as required
– Learns and follows the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions
What makes you great
– You have BS/BA in Business, Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent combination of education and experience
– 2 or more years experience in subcontracting
– You have 7 or more years of managerial experience
– Ability to identify risk and minimize associated consequence
– Effective negotiation and leadership skills
– Further, you have working knowledge of Project Management methodologies
– Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the company are required
– Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office Software, Lotus Notes, and other Company and discipline specific software applications
– You have effective analytical and problem-solving skills
