Surgical Technologist

Job Description:Surgical Technologists perform various duties as a member of
the surgical team to ensure a safe and successful operative procedure. This
position functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and directly
reports to Surgical Services management. It is expected that Surgical
Technologists support system wide and surgical operations initiatives and
practices. In addition, this person will actively participate in the
surgical operations safety plan as outlined.

Pay Details: $28.15/hour depending on experience (Certified).
$25.58/hour depending on experience (Uncertified)

Our Operating Room boasts 9 surgical suites with one heart room and one
cystoscopy room. Main OR specialties include: OB-GYN, Orthopedics
(largest service line), General Surgery, Cardiac, Neuro, ENT,
Urology, Plastics and Podiatry. We also have DaVinci robotics on-site.

Your day.

As a Surgical Technologist, you need to know how to:

Assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients. Assemble,
organize and complete case carts according to doctors preference lists.

Provide appropriate instrumentation, suture and all supplies as requested
and provide and maintain a sterile environment. May assist surgeon by passing
instruments to surgeon during cases.

Count sponges, needles, blades and instruments using proper technique and
established policy.

Assist in maintenance and care of specimens and prepare for laboratory
analysis. Handle specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments,
contaminated materials and sharps in accordance with established policy and
recommended standards of practice.

Assist with timely turnover of rooms, including clean up, replacement and
restocking of supplies and equipment. Care for instruments and equipment.

Minimum Requirements (Certified)

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Graduate of a formal, accredited Surgical Technologist program (training
in the US Military may substitute for the completion of the formal Surgical
Technologist training).
