Our services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, and engineering and construction.
We are looking to add a Deputy Project Controls Manager to our growing team at our Spent Nuclear Fuel Handling Project (SFHP). As a Deputy Project Controls Manager, you will have the primary responsibility for supporting the Project Controls Manager by assisting with the management of the project controls team. You will be responsible for performing all aspects of project control activities, ensuring that project administration, change management, project estimating, cost management, and schedule management are executed in a timely manner and in accordance with all company standards and contractual requirements. You will be splitting time between our office located in Idaho Falls and the project site located in Scoville, ID which is roughly 50 miles from Idaho Falls.
As a Deputy Project Controls Manager, you will support the Project Controls Manager and Construction Manager in monitoring and maintaining control of technical, cost, and schedule performance through a Project Controls System including earned value management, key performance indicators, risk management, and change control. Will conduct interactive planning meetings and program/project status briefings for internal and external representatives. In conjunction with the Project Controls Manager and Construction Manager, serves as a focal point to coordinate with Clients on any financial disputes and issues.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensures the integrity of the project budget through approved scope changes
Develop and maintain resource loaded P6 project schedule
Monitor, analyze, and report on progress, cost, and schedule variances and forecasts
Track RFIs/change orders and analyze cost/schedule impact
Incorporate baseline changes into P6 schedule
Calculate estimates to complete and estimates at completion
Review subcontractor invoices for progress and funding status
Effectively communicate with project team, client, and home office management on project control issues
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related technical field
At least 10 years of progressive project controls experience with increasing responsibility
Experience on large EPC/ECM projects (>$500 million) and/or program consisting of simultaneous small to medium size projects
Must have a strong working knowledge of P6
Must have strong Excel skills
Must have strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and within the client organization
Must be a US citizen (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with, and appreciation for sensitivities associated with a collocated work environment
Familiar with the implementation/application of EVMS in a DOE/NNSA project environment
The primary location for this position is in Idaho Falls/NRF at the INL
Physical Requirements:
Work is primarily sedentary
Some walking and standing may occur during a normal workday in connection with travel to and from meeting and conferences
May carry light items, such as reports, data products, notebooks, and laptops
Work Environment:
Cubical environment
May be in a restricted work area
Criticality of Attendance
Must be able to work within the normal daytime shift
Apart from STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential.
