Day in the Life:

The Finance Area Director 1 serves as the financial point of contact and strategic finance partner to multiple functional organizations within the organization. In alignment with system strategies and tactics, provides leadership and oversight to stewardship efforts to meet financial goals and metrics.

What to Expect:

Presents operational and financial performance insights to executive leadership, providers, community boards /stakeholders, and other internal management groups. Oversees, performs, and interprets high value analysis and key business metrics to aid decision making and operational planning. Provides operational context, highlights opportunities, and proactively identifies and leads execution of financial improvement opportunities.

Collaborates with leadership to assess programs and service lines opportunities for growth, service expansion and/or elimination. Develops analysis for resources, cost/benefit, or otherwise needed related financial matters.

Assumes an active role in cross functional teams to ensure sound financial processes and controls, interfacing with internal stakeholders and other shared service functions. Partners with system functional areas on system-wide initiatives and leads execution of tactics to improve revenues and reduce expenses.

Understands the operational and financial challenges of the business unit, and influences leaders to deliver options to meet current and future financial targets. Challenges prioritization of initiatives to ensure financial benefits are realized.

Collaboratively coordinates services for finance functions to provide consistent, quality financial information reinforced by high quality financial insights.

Develops, reviews, and monitors operating budgets in coordination with system finance leaders. Develops and justifies capital budget requests with critical oversight, monitors capital budgets in coordination with system finance leaders, and coordinates capital procurement according to planned timelines

Develops solutions to complex problems, requiring a high degree of financial acumen and understanding of the business. Provides ongoing education for front-line leaders and business unit leadership.

Supports and maximizes the business units operational and strategic performance with high level customer service. Builds strong rapport and trust with stakeholders and cross functional teams to enable challenging discussions around financial performance.

Leads special projects and participates on committees, workgroups, and teams, as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors degree or experience in lieu of degree

Experience: 10 years relevant experience
