Day to Day:

Insight Global is seeking a Data Scientist to join one of their top federal clients on a large defensive weaponry program. This individual will be joining the Information Services team and will be supporting the Mission of Strategic Deterrence through continuous improvements and innovation. Some of your responsibilities would include:

 - Design comprehensive business intelligence solutions, setting best practices and standards for the organizations BI efforts.

 - Collaborate with research scientists and engineers to implement advanced algorithms, software, and models for various applications, including machine learning, data fusion, data science, and other advanced analytics. This work will be done with an experienced cross-functional development team using a development platform/environment that adheres to DevSecOps and GitOps principles for CI/CD.

 - Assess and choose suitable data analytics tools, technologies, and platforms to support the organizations data strategy.

 - Tackle problems with persistence, innovation, teamwork, and a proactive approach to challenges.

 - Work as part of the data team to build and improve the BI infrastructure, including data warehouses, data lakes, and reporting/visualization tools.

 - Partner with the UX Team to create wireframes and design prototypes.

 - Collaborate with the Product Owner to break down work into a prioritized product backlog.

 - Work with the Product Owner, technical teams, and Scrum Master to plan sprints.

 - Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and advancements in data science, recommending new technologies and methodologies for the practice.

– Ensure optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of solutions.

Skills and Requirements

– 12 years of experience

 - Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Physics, Statistics, or related field

 - Strong desire to thrive in a high-trust, collaborative environment that aims for high performance

 - Proven ability to nurture an open, honest, accountable, and team-oriented culture

 - Experience in solving complex problems where technical and business needs may conflict

 - Demonstrated success in collaborating with technical teams to design, develop, and implement enterprise IT applications that meet business data enablement requirements

 - Proficiency in data visualization tools, data repositories, scheduling and delivery best practices, and other business processes

– Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders, team members, external vendors, various levels of management, and internal clients with varying levels of data and business intelligence expertise – Secret Clearance

– Masters Degree in in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Physics, Statistics, or related field

– Experience in troubleshooting technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation

 - Basic knowledge of software development lifecycle best practices

– Basic knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and DevSecOps null
