We work across Amazon, including AWS, retail, and subsidiary business units. In support of our partners, youll have opportunities to learn about security response and detection while building and maintaining our teams software.

Key job responsibilities

• Ability to operate AWS hosted services at scale

Integrate of commercial and in-house developed tools to deliver a complete security solution

• Solve customer-impacting problems quickly and smoothly

• Effortlessly transition from operating enterprise scaled infrastructure to deploying visibility sensors across hosts

• Understand the security problem being solved and deliver a solution that meets your customers needs, breaking through technology constraints without breaking your service

A day in the life

Our Systems Development Engineers spend time:

• Deploying, operating, and maintaining management infrastructure to control our sensor networks

• Integrating commercial and in-house tools and services

• Simplifying and reinventing systems, processes, and tools to make things better for our customers

• Building unique solutions to our customers’ technical problems

• Investigating and developing new ways to improve operations

• Mentoring, hiring and developing team members

• Studying and learning from industry recognized Amazon Senior and Principal Engineers.

• Identifying, troubleshooting and fixing root causes to problems.

Basic Qualifications

– Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure

– Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C, C#, Rust

– Experience with Linux/Unix

– Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes

Preferred Qualifications

– Experience with distributed systems at scale

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
