Mobile Software Engineer, YouTube, iOS
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
7 years of experience with iOS application development.
5 years of experience with design and architecture, and testing/launching software products.
5 years of experience with coding in Objective-C or Swift.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience building complex Application Programming Interface (API) that are used by many different teams.
Experience working with cross-functional partners to align on complex problems.
Experience with Android development and working on User Interface (UI) Design Systems.
Experience with UI and UX, mobile applications, and develop scalable software.
Ability to understand and debug large and complex code bases, and solve problems related to performance, A11y and scaling.
This team is made of engineers, User experience, and product managers who have a goal of driving Component Driven development at YouTube and all of this is also done in a cross platform way. This means, addressing the challenges of designing software that is server driven and can work on iOS.
We are highly passionate about developing reusable and scalable code, utilizing elements and native iOS. Additionally, we support teams from across the YouTube family of apps.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Work on YouTubes reusable User Interface (UI) component library, help drive the strategy and architecture for the reusable UI components, style and theme.
Work with design, product, and engineers to build features on iOS that introduce new frameworks and reusable components.
Work on making the YouTube app experience modern and cohesive across all mobile screen types, from phone, to tablet and beyond.
Promote robust and maintainable code, clear documentation, and deliver high-quality work, design and build Application programming interface (API) that are used widely across YouTube.
Collaborate with partners and partner teams to build alignment around the evolving UI frameworks, processes, tools, and ensure that they meet product developer needs.
