In this role, you will work with a talented team to design and develop the perimeter security solution of Apple that safeguards mission critical services and systems from all sorts of security threats. It is a world class solution that offers protection in various network layers, web application firewall (WAF), authentication offloading, traffic management services, and more. It provides increased availability, fault-tolerance, and access control to Apple’s internal and external application and services.

Description

We are looking for a self-driven, talented Software Engineer to design and develop the control plane of our security platform. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Data Plane and other cross-functional teams to build novel features for the platform. The ideal candidate will be hands-on in coding, and have expertise in building and tuning high-performance services, and creating robust and scalable distributed systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field.

Mastery in Core Java, OOP, multithreading, collections, and exception handling.

Experience with Hibernate or JPA for object-relational mapping.

Proficient in building RESTful web services and APIs.

Expertise in JVM tuning, profiling, and optimizing Java applications.

Familiar with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.

Good understaffing of IP Networking, BGP, NAT and TCP/IP.

At least 5 years of software development experience.

Good understanding of and HTTP/HTTPS proxies

Experience with building Control Plane systems, Kubernetes APIs, and Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs).

Innovative, thinks out of the box, and have a strong drive for excellence.

Good verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
