The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a dedicated Manager, Major Accounts to be accountable for managing large global customers with the ability to prioritize accounts using strong sellingand negotiation skills.

The Manager, Major Accounts works within thesales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with company business strategy.

This role will be a full-time position based out of our Manati, Puerto Rico office with travel required to visit customers often. You will have the opportunity to develop and implement agreed upon Operating Plans which will meet bothpersonal and business goals of expanding customer sales within the assigned accounts.

What were looking for:

  • Education: Bachelors degree
  • Experience:
  • Science or Medical Technology background preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience working in a complex sales environment, where multiple people areinvolved in the purchasing decision and there is a solution based selling approach
  • A proven track record of verifiable sales success driving growth with a consultative, strategicselling approach
  • Business to Business Sales experience, with preference given to those with distributionexperience and a scientific background and/or having worked in a laboratory or researchenvironment
  • Demonstrated capability to effectively utilize best in class selling processes (ie SPIN, Challenger,Miller Heiman) and technology platforms including salesforce.com and Qlikview
  • Additional Qualifications:
  • Fully bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Excellent written, communication and presentations skills
    in English and Spanish
  • Excellent communication and team interaction skills, routinely interacting with customers,manufacturers, and VWR staff
  • Ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision makers
  • Ability to handle difficult situations and interactions
  • Ability to work independently and successfully manage time and territory
  • Computer Knowledge (Microsoft Office)
  • Experience in establishing customer relationships in competitively held accounts
  • Time management, problem solving and organization skills
  • Business savvy in relation to understanding individual customer operations
  • Ability to sell strategically within an account
  • Capability to travel to customer locations (as needed)

  • Manage large accounts, often global customers
  • Drive best practices across a global customer
  • Drive account prioritization through pricing management
  • Prospect and establish new opportunities by managing a sales pipeline and developing anddelivering proposals to customers by illustrating VWRs value proposition
  • Sell consultatively, detailing products, determine customer needs and requirements, and makerecommendations to both prospects and customers of the various solutions VWR can offer theirbusiness
  • Work with sales management to develop strategic territory business plans for achievement ofsales growth and quota attainment
  • Work in conjunction with sales management team providing proposals and implementing salesstrategies to achieve sales growth
  • Build and sustain relationships with customers and ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Manage a vast product portfolio and execute and implement company defined sales andmarketing strategies
  • Expand VWRs role with existing customers by developing retention strategies illustrating VWRsvalue proposition in conjunction with evolving customer requirements
  • Leverage available resources to effectively implement company marketing plan, strategies andsales processes
  • Represent and develop strong relationships with manufacturers
  • Work directly with local manufacturer representatives to develop and continually improveproduct knowledge, arrive at most favored pricing, and improve account profitability
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
