Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The equipment/tool mechanic shall inspect, perform maintenance, and repair equipment (vacuum truck, straight truck, pickup truck, compressors, pumps, etc.) per the manufacture’s specifications. Additionally, must assure that all equipment is in safe operating condition and that all tags/markings required by our safety program are in place.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

Maintain a high level of accuracy

Commercial Driver License Class “A”

Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects.

Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools.

Examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.

Replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions.

Tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency.

Assist Equipment Operations Manager in core daily work

Inspect, repair tools & equipment, as required

Maintain a repair and maintenance log for company owned equipment

Safe operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment

Always maintain a clean and safe work area

Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.

Perform other related duties, as directed.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three (3) years or more in heavy equipment/ mechanic shop experience. Good understanding of heavy equipment & diesel type work and knowledge of basic hand tools. Frequent work is performed in shop and/or field environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is possible. Noise level is extreme. Work requires travel outside the shop to various field jobsites. Travel and overtime may be required.

Complete the Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client/Site specific training. Must obtain and maintain an active status within the appropriate drug testing program. TWIC card preferred.

Verification of 8,000 craft related hours. Graduated journeyperson status preferred.

The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience, specific skill set, geographic location, internal equity, and other factors influencing pay. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of this range, and in certain circumstances, may fall outside the listed hiring range.

Hiring range: $45.00.00 to $49.00 per hour

Full range for this position, available over time: $40.00 to $52.00 per hour
