Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Highway Maintenance Worker 2 to join the Olympic Region (OR) Highway Maintenance Program out of Amanda Park, WA. The purpose of the Olympic Region Highway Maintenance Program is to ensure the highway infrastructure, WSDOT facilities and fleet are maintained in good working order; to operate the highway system effectively and safely; to respond to natural disasters, weather events, construction impacts and emergencies; and to provide environmental stewardship of lands that WSDOT owns or maintains. Under the direction of a Highway Maintenance Supervisor and Highway Maintenance Worker 3, this journey-level position is a member of the regional maintenance organization. Operating a wide variety of highway equipment and tools, this position is responsible for maintenance and repair of highways and highway structures to ensure the safe and efficient movement of people and commerce. This position performs a variety of skilled maintenance tasks and may occasionally lead a crew in the absence of a Highway Maintenance Worker 3. The safety of the traveling public and fellow employees is a high priority and must be considered in every decision and activity.
