Director of Clinical Education – Physical Therapy Residency

Overview
The Post Professional Physical Therapy program within the Physical Therapy Department at Touro University, School of Health Sciences, invites applications for the position of Director of Residency Clinical Education. This position is crucial to the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency program and will have a strong emphasis on mentorship. This position will also include faculty responsibilities in the Post Professional DPT program. This is a part-time position with flexible hours.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical mentorship to the Orthopedic Residents in both didactic and clinical work environments.
Serve as a course instructor for Clinical Mentorship and Clinical Residency.
Schedule clinical experiences, visit clinical sites, and supervise residents throughout their clinical residencies, utilizing the ABPTRFE RCI system for grading and tracking resident experiences and progress.
Recruit practice sites and mentors to enhance the residency program.
Coordinate Clinical Reflection and Professional Service courses within the Post-Professional DPT program.
Attend information sessions and open houses to represent the program.
Participate in departmental meetings.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
Doctor of Physical Therapy Required.
American Board of Physical Therapy Specialty in orthopedics or completion of orthopedic residency is required
Must be licensed to practice Physical Therapy in at least one state within the United States.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilites
A high degree of interpersonal competency:professionalism, diplomacy, judgement and discretion required.
Familiarity in online learning platforms including Banner, Canvas, Adobe Connect.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Demonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty and colleagues.
Travel
Travel to Clinical Residency sites and residents work sites as necessary.
Maximum Salary
USD $50,000.00/Yr.
Minimum Salary
USD $40,000.00/Yr.
