About the Role…

As a Quality Supervisor, you will be responsible for positively releasing finished products, collecting and auditing production and sanitation records, training employees on food safety requirements, determining product quality and quality holds, leading corrective and preventable action processes, making determinations on raw materials for non-conformance, and testing finished goods.

Interested candidates should be able to work 3rd shift, but be flexible to cover 1st & 2nd shift as business needs.

About the Team…

The Quality Assurance Team is diverse in knowledge and experience and are responsible for ensuring that Beech-Nut’s products meet the highest standards for food safety and quality. This team takes pride in, and responsibility in partnering with our Strategic Sourcing, Operations and Technical Services Teams to ensure the ingredients sourced and processed have passed our testing standards and expectations. This is a hands-on, collaborative team that is energetic and passionate about making sure we continue to do what we do best – making high quality, safe, and nutritious foods for babies and toddlers!

About the Work Environment…

The position is located at the Amsterdam, New York LEED® certified production facility. The associate will be required to work in an environment that requires hairnet, beard cover, safety glasses, hearing protection and lab coat. Restrictions include wearing of jewelry, nail polish and acrylic nails. Other personal protection equipment may be required for certain tasks.

What You’ll Do…

Ensure BNN’s Food Safety Plan is being adhered to and all Preventative Controls are in compliance. Ensure all deviations are recorded and take responsibility for determining the necessary corrective actions to take as per internal operating procedures.

Audit production and processing records to be able to positively release finished goods that meet quality and food safety standards

Effectively quarantine and hold raw materials and finished golds that don’t meet food safety or quality standards. This includes notification of issue to appropriate associates, physically tagging products or materials, and filling out hold information in systems.

Conduct internal audits and investigations as part of the corrective action and preventative action process when there are food safety, sanitation, or quality issues.

Perform daily quality, food safety and sanitation audits of production, processing, packaging, and warehousing, and submit daily reports of any issues found.

Participate in QA training to ensure the entire organization is trained properly for their role in BNN’s Food Safety Plan.

Lead rework teams that may require training operators, tracking materials being reworked, filling out rework paperwork, and releasing product in SAP inventory control systems.

Ensure effective sanitation by reviewing sanitation checklists and verifying cleaning effectiveness with ATP swabbing and environmental swabbing.

Test finished goods and raw materials as necessary for releasing products or raw materials. This can include chemical, physical, sensory, and microbiological testing.

What You’ll Need…

Bachelor’s degree in related field (Food Science, Technology, Engineering) with 1-2 year’s relevant experience in food industry.

Experience with FDA and USDA regulated foods and regulatory systems.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of food safety.

Understanding of the role and importance of the Food Drug & Cosmetic Act and the Food Safety Modernization Act for food systems.

CPG/Food Manufacturing experience is preferred.

Pay: The annual base salary range for this in-person role is $55,000 – $75,000. This is an hourly non-exempt position.
