Hourly Pay Rate: $20
All Direct Support professionals support the persons served character, choices, strengths, interests and needs as outlined in a person’s planning. Assist in the implementation of person-centered plans. Ensures the safety, health and clean environment for all people.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, coordinates and implements meaningful activities on a daily basis: areas of daily living and personal care needs as well as person centered activities that promote independence, inclusion, and productivity.
Assists in developing and responsible for implementing person-centered plans.
Performs daily site cleaning, food preparation in keeping with dietary needs.
Responsible for accurate daily documentation per OPWDD and agency standards.
Attends/participates in general staff meetings, in-service training and other pertinent agency meetings/trainings.
Completes all tasks necessary to ensure health and safety of each person receiving services’
Work collaboratively with other coworkers.
Responsible to record time worked at the start and end of each shift and to work the minimum number of accepted hours that you are hired for.
Safely transports people to and from activities, day program, and appointments following proper procedures when approved to drive.
Ensures adequate supplies are available to support persons served needs.
Performs CPR and Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R).
Maintains medication administration certification as well as certification for all specialized medical procedures needed within the department.
Maintain behavior tech training that is site specific.
Provides flexible availability to the supervising Program Director on a monthly basis. Communicates with the Program Director to determine which locations you will be scheduled to work at on a monthly basis based on the needs of the program.
Ability to travel to multiple locations throughout the agency.
Demonstrates flexibility with changing locations as needed to ensure site minimums are maintained throughout the department.
Complies with all agency policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
18 years of age
High School Diploma or GED
One year of experience preferred
Valid Driver’s License that meets agency policy.
Ability to read, write, comprehend plans and documentation
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to meet physical requirements of the position when performing the following: standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling and climbing.
Lifting requirement of 35 lbs.
Ability to support people receiving services with repositioning, lifting and transferring as required by their person-centered plan.
Physical agility and ability to react to emergency situations, including maintaining Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R) certification as per regulatory guidelines.
CPR certification.
