Job Purpose

Primary Responsibilities :

• Advanced set-up & operation of CNC machines, without assistance, per set-up sheets & work instructions.

• Verify, & edit programs, as required.

• Calculate speeds & feeds.

• Advanced understanding of tool geometry.

• Determining tooling requirements.

• Establish tool offsets using tool setter.

• Create programs using Haas VPS (Visual Programming System)

• Setup/establish work origin using WIPS (Wireless Intuitive Probing System)

• Download / upload all programs efficiently.

• Operate CNC in manual mode, as required.

• Adjust machine feeds & speeds to provide acceptable finishes & tolerances, while maximizing production output.

• Utilize optical comparator for set-up confirmation.

• Determine material requirements to maximum yield.

• Design & fabricate Vacuum plates / fixtures.

• Deburr & clean finished parts.

• Troubleshoot machining issues.

• Review production orders for accuracy of machine & labor times.

• Collect & segregate recyclable / dumpster scrap appropriately.

• Perform Housekeeping / TPEM / 5S, as required.

• Follows ALL Safety Guidelines / Practices

• Assist Maintenance Technicians with machine trouble shooting.

• Perform ERP system transactions accurately, as required.

• Utilize Fork Truck to move & stage material, while following the applicable material handling guidelines.

• Utilize overhead crane and vacuum lifter efficiently to load/unload material.

• Perform Quality Control checks on work in-process & final inspection.

• Understand ISO procedures & how they relate to position.

• Recognize production procedures & act upon “next step” preparation.

• Review & suggest corrections to Manufacturing Orders (MO) relating to routings & Bill of Materials (BOM).

• Make copies of MO, DCS sheets, etc.

• Print labels & skid tags, as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

Calculate weights of cutoffs & scrap for reporting accurately.

Communicate with Sales & Engineering, as needed.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

Technical School Certificate or Diploma preferred.

3-5 years CNC Operation & set-up experience in a Manufacturing Environment.

Optical Comparator experience preferred.

Comprehensive understanding of G & M codes.

Possess excellent Blueprint reading/interpretation skills.

Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.).

Ability to operate a Forklift & complete in-house certification.

History of Safe Working Behavior.

Demonstrated measurement skills; ability to use various measuring devices with above-average accuracy.

Sound understanding of Quality Control procedures.

Solid math skills.

Advanced knowledge of Tool Geometry.

Advanced set-up capabilities.

Ability to perform program modifications.

Program creation and editing using Haas VPS (Visual Programming System)

AutoCAD experience.

SurfCam programming software skills preferred.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Good communication skills.

Willing to learn & develop new skills.

Willingness to assist & train other operators.

Attention to detail.

Able to work with minimal supervision.

Team player.

The salary for this position is $20.36 to $27.73 . Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
