Cambria County Drug & Alcohol is looking for an outgoing individual to join us as a Drug & Alcohol Prevention Program Specialist. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a D&A Prevention Program Specialist, you will be performing a variety of tasks under the supervision of the D&A Administrator 1. This includes formulating comprehensive plans for prevention services in the county. You will have the opportunity to work closely with community organizations by providing technical assistance, guiding their organizing efforts, and channeling their activities in specific directions in order to integrate their program with the overall county drug and alcohol program. Additional responsibilities include:
Managing completion of the DDAP Needs and Resource Assessment process
Ensuring compliance of both the agencys internal administration of prevention services and externally contracted prevention services
Functioning as the agencys lead user for prevention-related features of the PA WITS (Pennsylvania Web Infrastructure for Treatment Services) system
Conducting community-based visits
Representing the agency at meetings of interagency coordination groups
Coordinating local training opportunities
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year experience as a Drug and Alcohol Prevention Specialist; or
A Bachelors Degree in Health Education, Education, or the Social or Social or Behavioral Sciences and two years of progressively responsible experience in drug and alcohol prevention activities; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Cambria County. If no eligible candidates who live within Cambria County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
