DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a County Social Services Aide 1, you will be assigned families to assist with supervised visitation, parenting techniques, transportation to appointments, housekeeping skills, and budgeting under the supervision of a Casework Supervisor. You will be responsible for supervising children and demonstrating appropriate role modeling of parenting techniques, as well as providing helpful ideas and suggestions to caregivers during appointments and supervised visitation. You will function as a valuable asset to the casework team by working with the caseworkers to ensure that services are provided as listed in the familys service plan or via court orders.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other community resources and social service agencies to coordinate the care of children and their families as prescribed. Within this role, it is essential to maintain appropriate documentation of services and activities that have been completed. Some evening and occasional weekend work is required to accommodate the schedule of children and families.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
This position requires some flexibility. Work time will be adjusted to accommodate program needs such as visitation, appointments, and other related obligations. There may be some weekend and evening work at times.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Graduation from high school; or
Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other Requirements:
This particular position also requiresapplicants to possess a valid drivers license which is not under suspension.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Huntingdon County. If no eligible candidates who live within Huntingdon County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
You must pass a background investigation.
A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
