JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Residence Life Office is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to join the team.
The Living Learning Community Coordinator is a vital part of the team in helping to continue the vision and mission of the department specifically around the Living Learning Communities (LLC). They are responsible to the Associate Director for maintaining and establishing relationships with Faculty and Advisers and implementing strategies to assess the effectiveness of the Living Learning Community to student success. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supervision:
Advise, or co-advise with Faculty Associates multiple LLC student organizations
Provide support and training for Resident Assistants
Provide support and training for LLC student organizations
Student Development and Residence Education:
Plan, implement, and evaluate the Living Learning Communities residence education program for the department
Makes referrals to University agencies when appropriate
Encourages student involvement in residential and University engagement opportunities
Advocates for students by communicating their concerns and issues to the appropriate agency
Advises individual students with academic, career, and personal concerns
Interpret and enforce University and residence hall policies and procedures
Administration:
Responsible for the daily operation and organization of the Living Learning Communities
Assist in promoting the safety and security of area residents
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Faculty Associates, Assignments, Housing and Food Services, Safety and Security, New Student Programs, etc
Administrator the LLC records (contact information for faculty/staff/students involved in the LLC, active status process, LLC traditions, etc.) to ensure a smooth transition
Community Development:
Demonstrates a commitment to students and the quality of their life in the residence hall environment
Assist the LLC E-boards in developing and promoting a positive living environment
Demonstrates a commitment to diversity and social justice issues
Plans and implements programs in conjunction with Resident Assistants and LLC student leadership
Demonstrates a commitment to staff and student retention and recruitment efforts, particularly as they impact members of underrepresented groups
Miscellaneous:
Participates in committees and task force groups
Assists in the recruitment and training of professional staff
Assists in the development and implementation of goals for the area and the residence hall system Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
Requires a Bachelors degree or higher plus three or more years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Should possess a thorough understanding of the role and purpose of residence hall living as it applies to student development.
Drivers license preferred. If operating a University vehicle for this position, the candidate will be required to complete a motor vehicle records check in addition to the standard background checks.
This is an 83.3 % full-time equivalence (FTE) job with mid-May to mid-July off. Full Penn State benefits are included.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$46,400.00 – $67,300.00
