THE POSITION
The Department of Transportation is on the lookout for candidates to fill the role of Driver License Examiner Assistant. This position plays a crucial role in overseeing the application and knowledge testing procedures for Pennsylvanias commercial and non-commercial driver licensing program. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will engage directly with customers to confirm their identification, ensure the completion of application forms, and input data into the online driver license application system. You will administer standardized knowledge assessments to gauge the applicants comprehension of the Vehicle Code, driving regulations, and relevant traffic control devices. Additionally, a vision screening will be conducted for all applicants utilizing a telebinocular instrument to assess visual acuity.
You will be responsible for entering the results of applicant tests and customer applications for driver license services into online software systems via a PC terminal. It is essential to strictly follow all components of the Driver and Vehicle Services Customer Service Policy. Furthermore, you will ensure that the appropriate fee waiver code is applied and accurately documented whenever a fee waiver is required for processing customer transactions, adhering to all stipulations outlined in the Fee Waiver Guidelines. Other related duties may also be assigned as necessary.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
– Full-time employment, 80 hours biweekly
– Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday – Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
– This position may require travel and overtime.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
– One year of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
Other Requirements:

– This position requires the selected candidate to undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment.
